Steak is almost always paired with wine. While they say it’s the perfect combo, people don’t always want the wine buzz. At your next barbecue, serve these 3 refreshing non-alcoholic beverages that are the perfect complement to your grilled steak.

Refreshing berry drink

What do you need:

  • 2 cups frozen blueberries
  • 2 cups of mineral water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup of water
  • 3/4 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Ice

To make the syrup, combine the cranberries and water in a saucepan and simmer until the berries are tender and easily crushed, about 4 to 6 minutes. Crush the berries with the back of a spatula until there are no whole ones left. Increase heat and simmer for 6 to 8 minutes, stirring frequently. When ready, place the sugar in a bowl and pour in the blueberry syrup through a strainer. Let cool to room temperature and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Combine syrup, club soda, lemon juice, and lime juice in a glass. Top with ice before serving.

Pear Ginger Punch

What do you need:

  • One 3-inch piece of fresh ginger, cut into thirds
  • 8 cups pear juice, chilled
  • 3 1/2 cups mineral water
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of ginger syrup
  • 1/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • Ice
  • Candied ginger to decorate

To make the syrup, combine the ginger, water, and sugar in a saucepan, then bring to a boil. Lower heat then simmer for 30 minutes or until reduced to a syrup. Remove from heat and let cool. When cool, mix with pear juice, lemon juice and ground ginger. Add mineral water to punch and stir. Top with ice. Put candied ginger on toothpicks to garnish your cocktail glasses.

What do you need:

  • 3/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 3/4 cup mineral water
  • 1/4 cup mint leaves
  • 2 drops of rose water
  • Ice

Mix the orange juice, mineral water, mint leaves and rose water in a bowl. Stir to combine the ingredients well. Pour ice into serving glasses and pour sparkler mixture over ice. Serve immediately.
