Who couldn’t forget the much hyped and hyped Volvo Cars pirate treasure hunt? In fact, many people have been drawn to the idea of fighting like pirates through various means and finding a buried Volvo XC90 V8 at the end of the race.
The entire ordeal started over the internet and through various games, challenges, and trivia, the pirates had to make sure they could go through every step of the way and solve every challenge they faced. This competition has been regarded as a huge success due to the large number of interested entrants who entered and joined The Hunt. Apart from this, the Volvo Hunt is also the first of its kind because it is a multimedia fighter.
The entire challenge took two months of solving challenges on the Internet. However, only seven were able to make it to the final list. There were three contenders who hailed from the US, while the remaining finalists hailed from the UK, Japan, Spain and Austria. These finalists did not know where the final challenge and final leg would take place. The only time they knew was when they had already flown to the secret location. The paradise of the Bahamas. And the finalists would take two days to find the treasure. The clues were still around the place, as well as the challenges. And those who reached the last section had to go over each obstacle in order to advance to the next.
It was David Hutz, the US finalist, who found the buried Volvo XC90 V8, which was unique in that it had a pirate theme. However, the other six finalists did not go home empty-handed. They also received an award from Volvo and it wasn’t just some parts for the 1986 Volvo XC90. In fact, they each took home a Volvo, which was a surprise to them.
One of the finalists, Karl Lloyd, from the UK, exclaims: “When I got the call from Volvo saying I had won a trip to a mysterious place, I was certainly surprised, but when we got to the Bahamas, I was speechless. Then When I thought I had withdrawn from the race, I was very disappointed, but when we found out that all the finalists would receive a new Volvo XC90, I was absolutely shocked! The whole experience was wonderful and unforgettable.”
