I love off-road running, or “trail running” as it’s called today. Trail running competitions are usually held from the beginning of Easter or late autumn. At the end of the season, fans like me have to keep going even though it’s snowing. I hate and love this season, but mostly it’s okay with me, because it feels almost like a law of nature that there should be a bit of roughness and rain when standing at the starting line of a trail running trip or a race. , on the contrary. It’s not a true off-road race anyway.

But now, right now it is winter again and there is a lot of snow and cold out there. Why should you run then? Hmm, you wonder, where is it going now? I want to be inspired to go for a run !!! Sorry, running in snow is CRAZY. Why? I will explain.

First of all, when there is so much snow that you have to put on your spikes (Spiky is probably the best on the market) or your spiked Icebug shoes, here’s my point – I think you should wear a pair of cross country skis and head out on the ski slope.

Second, even if you have cleats, you will most likely slip and hurt yourself anyway. If you can’t ski and “have” to run, it’s best to do what you should on a treadmill …

Third, it is not during the 10 winter sessions, as it reduces your marathon time by five minutes. Use the winter to train other muscles in addition to pure trail running muscles.

Last but not least, I think if you don’t want to go cross-country skiing when the snow is fine and white, you should go for something a little more creative than a normal winter run. Buy yourself a pair of snowshoes and run with them in the snow. Go ahead and do something different from your usual training schedule to develop yourself (I think, very seriously, that this will develop your career more than the 10 winter races you manage to do).

Whether you go out and run or not, I think you should consider the following gear things:

1 Go out and run in winter if the weather is nice and the sun is shining, because then it is really beautiful. It emits sparks when you move, and the air is cool, clear, and wonderfully rich in oxygen. It’s also really nice to go for a run on Christmas morning, before the other family member wakes up.

2. Wear the right gear to be safe. During the winter I run in my country ski gear that adapts to winter winds and has better protection on the belly and thighs than normal running gear. I also usually wear warm underwear and always a headlamp just in case.

3. At this time of year it gets dark quickly, so make it a habit to wear a reflective vest when you go for a run in winter.

4. Remember if it is very cold outside so you can tear your lungs easily and it can be really dangerous. Use a lung pulse to help warm the air.

5. If you are in pain, use Tiger Balm, which helps warm up your muscles before heading out into the freezing cold of the winter landscape.

6. Put Christmas music in your headphones, it can only be done now before -more without vomiting πŸ™‚

Running in winter has its charms and I think obviously it’s kind of cool to be a trail in winter. And as they say … “pain is temporary, glory is forever”.
