Trying to find the facts about how many Toyota cars have been involved in fatal accidents as a result of mechanical failure is next to impossible due to the many articles written by lawyers trying to enrich themselves at Toyota’s expense. News that seeks sensationalism instead of reporting facts is also in on the hoax.

It could be hundreds, thousands or even millions of Toyota owners who are at risk based on what’s on the internet.

In reality, only 8 out of 4,200,000 cars have ever been in a serious accident as a result of mechanical failure, but that fact cannot be found on the internet or even buried at the bottom of a news article.

The news confuses the number of recalls with real accidents. Recalls are issued to prevent accidents from occurring. They are issued to ensure that the vehicle owner does not have problems with their car in the future.

However, when a recall is reported as an accident and Toyota owners are reported to be on the warpath because of their defective cars, a smear campaign is being carried out and the truth is not being told.

As the owner of a 2008 Prius, my anger is not directed at Toyota, but at those who tell half-truths and outright lies about the company. My anger is directed at attorneys trying to get rich quick by convincing Toyota owners to exaggerate or fabricate issues about their car in order to file a lawsuit.

What happened to honesty in reporting? What has happened to integrity in this country?

Stand back and let a good car company, Toyota, continue to set the record for excellence in production, performance, and price, as well as safety. Something Toyota has always done. Stop trying to tarnish a good name.
