In a year many things have happened in the technological world. We all love the enhanced features of smartphones, tablets, game consoles and other amazing innovations. And then came Apple’s most anticipated flagship device, the iPhone 5s and 5c. It possessed remarkable attributes that are to be expected from Apple, especially when it ranks first in the subject of smartphone features. Its great rival Samsung would not miss a thing so it launched its own Galaxy S4 before Apple.

Immediately following was the launch of carrying wearable technology through Samsung’s Galaxy Gear and Qualcomm’s Toq. They are still under pressure as this will be the first time that the two tech giants will deliver to the world what they are capable of in terms of wearable technology. At this time, Samsung has made it possible for its Galaxy Gear to be compatible with various smartphone platforms. If we wait a little longer, Samsung may very well bring us the smartwatch we’ve all been waiting for.

The flexible technology concept that has been dreamed of for centuries is now being experimented with by Samsung and LG. Each of them has launched their curved smartphones namely Galaxy Round and G Flex respectively. Sooner or later, so will the rest of the tech giants.

We already have robots, computers in our hands, microchips embedded in small technologies that are then placed inside the human body. And then we have the aforementioned, which we should expect more of in the coming months, since they just started. Let’s go ahead a bit and take some time to think and maybe give an answer to this question: what’s next for the tech world? Transformative technology.

The idea behind transformative technology is rooted in the concept of flexible technology that focuses on “bending” the solid hardware of our beloved devices. What makes transformative technology different from flexible technology is the ability to allow a device to become something else through “folding.” Origami, are you home? It would be a great achievement for the tech world to apply the Japanese art of paper folding to devices that are expected to be around in the near future. It may very well be the last form of convenience that technology will ever be able to conjure up for humanity.

Imagine having all your mechanical possessions inside your pockets. You will be able to go anywhere with little or no luggage. You simply have to draw them and be able to accomplish your tasks in a matter of minutes when it originally should have been hours. Transformative technology is just one of many innovations that the future holds. All that’s left for us to do now is wait.
